Her Aya - Chapter 2

The whole family checked in the hotel 2 days before the event date. While the parents did some last minute shopping, we would just stay in as soon as we arrived from school or the office. And I barely saw Mika since Tyrone was looking after her. Last I saw her was from my hotel room, she was with him by the pool. I wasn't bothered that much since I know Tyrone likes to stand as Mika's brother when the twins are not around.

"Miho!" I heard mom calling out from the other side of the door
"Yes mom! Just a minute." I called out as I grabbed my phone
I opened the door and greeted my mom with a quick peck on the cheek. "Did you get all that you needed?" I asked her as she stepped in the room
"Yes, and more! There was a big sale at the mall so I added a few things that you can take to the vacation house." she said handing me bags of whatever she bought from the mall
"Here are the keys to the house. And I've already had the caretaker clean up and prepare the place for you. The fridge there has been stocked so you can cook, but if you like, I can have the caretaker cook for you as well." "Please remember miho, no liquor for the minors or your dad will kill you."
Wow! It happened so fast and so great, I hugged my mom so tight I could feel her giggle.
"Thanks mom! I'll be back. I've got to tell everyone!" and I rushed out of the room

Phone-in-hand, I walked through the hotel hallway, texting while brisk walking. I was so engrossed with getting the message to everyone when.
"Ooofff!" and my phone flew and flopped near the open door
"Sorry! I'm sorry sir." she picked up my phone and handed it to me
"I'm really sorry sir. Hindi ko po kayo napansin." the chambermaid said
"It's okay, no harm no foul." grabbed my phone and left
I arrived at the lobby to find everyone there except for Mika.
"Wow! That was fast. Where's the birthday girl?" I asked
"She is still in her room. Sabi nya she'll go down for dinner nalang. I guess she's tired from all the swimming she's been doing. Nabobored ata dito sa hotel." answered Mika's brother Jeron
"Ah, ganun ba? Okay. Since I have you here, let's make a quick plan for our out of town trip. The house there is waiting for us na so I need to know who will be joining." I started
"Je, I'll have a plus one!" Marcus was the quickest to respond
"Plus one for me too." Jeron responded wrapping his arms around his girlfriend "Don't bother asking Jeric. He will be leaving the day after the party for a business meeting with dad."
"It's not like that, Ron!" shouted Jeric "Bro, I'll keep you posted, just send me the directions at try ko humabol."
"Aje, sasabay nalang ako with Jeric." Tyrone added "I just need to finish a few things here before I go on vacation."
"So it's settled. We will leave after lunch the day after tomorrow. We can buy food and a few drinks along the way nalang." "I have to go na at may mga bibilhin pa ako." and I stepped out of the hotel
"Bro, dinner!" shouted one of the twins
"Balik agad ako!" I shouted back
While waiting for the valet, I tried to call Mika. No answer. A few more tries, still no answer. Left her a text message.
'Princess, I'm getting a few things for the out of town trip after your birthday. Do you want anything? PS: We have a pool there! :)'

I hustled my way around the mall. Grabbing a few things that I need when I got her reply.
'Yey pool! Ku Aje, pa-add ng swimwear, hwag two-piece bikini! Size 12 po.'
I replied back 'Okay. Bakit ayaw ng two-piece. If I get a one-piece bikini. Will it be the top or the bottom? :)'
Corny as crap but at least I tried.
'harharhar! Cornick, ku Aje. See you at dinner.' her quickest response
Oh crap! I have to make it to dinner. Mom will kill me if I'm late. Quick check of the bags, I'm good and I'm heading back to the hotel.

The drive back to the hotel was fairly fast than I expected, probably because I'm excited for her birthday dinner. I headed straight for my hotel room. Locked! I forgot! I left mom in my room earlier. Called mom, no answer. I'm in deep shit, I can't be late for dinner. I rushed for the front desk, checked the clock, still an hour before the dinner reservation, I still have time. I got my keys and went up to my room. The elevator stopped on the 14th floor and a hotel staff stepped in.
"Good evening sir. Kayo po pala." she greeted with a bow
"Hi, yes. 16th floor ako." I smiled back
"Alam ko po, sir. I'm sorry about the incident earlier. Wala naman po nasira sa phone nyo?" the chambermaid asked
"None at all. Don't worry about it."
"Sir, if there is anything that you wish that could make your stay in the hotel better, please let me know." she bowed again stepping out with me when the elevator arrived on the 16th floor
"Thank you." looking at her name plate "Mylene. Sige, I'll look for you if I need something." I smiled back

The dinner was good. Food was great and hearty laughter can be heard from our table. Like they say, nothing beats good food and great company. Mika was especially happy since she got an early present from her dad. We all promised to give our presents to her at the party but this one was special. She got the keys to her first car. A cute one at that. Story was her mom wanted to get her a new car but her brothers persuaded their dad to get her a used car, just to be fair with them. The twins won. She was so excited, you could see the sparkle in her eyes. She asked her parents if she could drive the car out of town but they didn't approve. But it didn't spoil her evening since she knows she'll have an even better celebration the day after tomorrow.
