"Who Was That Guy?"

"Who was that guy?"

A dialogue.

Chapter 2 "What guy?"

"You know - yung kausap mo kagabi for like half the night."

"Oh, him."

"Yeah. Mukhang close ata kayo with the way you were talking - but I don't think nakwento mo na siya sakin before?"

"Yeah, no. Hmm, where do I begin. Well, coworker ko siya from that company I was working at siguro mga 10 or so years ago na."

"Wow, tagal na ah."

"Yeah tagal na rin."

"Right."

"We just chatted, nagusap lang kami about things, ganon."

"What kinda things?"

"Stuff, mainly."

"You're gonna have to be more specific."

"Huh, why naman?"

"Hmm. I dunno, really, just, conversating I guess."

"Okay?"

"Hm. You seem kinda cagey about it."

"I do?"

"Yeah I mean, I just asked a question didn't I."

"Yeah. I suppose you're right, I am being kinda vague, no?"

"Yeah, bakit naman?"

"Well, I wanna know muna why you want me to go into detail about him."

"Hm. Well siguro the fact na napasarap usapan niyo kanina, and the fact na never mo pa siya sakin nakwento before has kinda made me curious since paguwi natin."

"Well I guess wala lang talagang reason to bring him up."

"Uh huh?"

"Yeah I mean, sure he was someone I closely worked with all those years ago--"

"Closely?"

"Yeah, closely."

"Huh, and how come I've never heard of him from you?"

"Well, kasi--"

"Yeah?"

"He was in our company around the time we broke up for a bit all those years ago."

"Really?"

"And nung nagkabalikan na tayo, it was at the same time nung napromote siya to a higher position and so hindi na kami basically hands on working together."

"Ah."

"So basically us being together and me knowing and working with him closely didn't at all, you know, nag-intersect."

"Or nag-overlap."

"Yeah. We stopped becoming close friends na din as he went on to have other and bigger responsibilities for the company and I was off doing my thing."

"Oh so you were close friends?"

"Yeah I mean, you can say that. Close friends din kami noon."

"I see."

"You aren't jealous or anything, kaya ka napapatanong?"

"No Babe, not at all. Just been really curious lang."

"Yeah."

"Come to think of it, we've never really talked much aboutthat period in our lives."

"Which one?"

"Around the time nung nagbreak tayo."

"Yeah. I mean, by the time you and I wanted to be serious with one another again, we just never really looked back."

"Yeah. A lot of painful memories no."

"Yeah. Oh well, I guess pagusapan nalang natin yun sa susunod. I mean, it's getting pretty late narin, I wanna wake up early tomorrow to walk the dog."

"Oh come on honey, it's a Sunday! I'm sure the dog will be fine if nalate siya ng konti sa walking."

"No… I don't think he will. You see pets kasi thrive on schedule--"

"Shhh. I know. I guess I wanna say I just wanna spend more time with you. At least tonight."

"Di ka pa inaantok?"

"Nah. Pagkauwi natin and habang naliligo ka, I made me coffee to get rid of the alcohol buzz."

"That's really stupid."

"I know! Hahaha."

"Nako ka. Pano ka na niyan makakatulog?"

"Oh don't worry about me Babe."

"I shouldn't?"

"Yeah. I got some ideas to spend the time habang di pa ako makatulog."
